Hi Aylish, thanks for the writeup. It would be nice if you could update your article to say the game was developed by Crimp Team or include the full list of our team members instead of attributing it fully to me! Here's a list of the other devs for your convenience: Brieyh'leai Simmons, Nic Lupfer, Alana Rasche, Collin Anderson, Eric Franco, and Karley Karensky.
Such a great realization of a concept that is almost too simple to be fun, but it definitely works! It feels like Puzzmo's Typeshift & Wordbind where it seems like you're gonna be doing the same thing over and over, but each new puzzle feels fresh and challenging.
I do think it leans on the non-repeating words too much for difficulty though. I got to the final challenge and couldn't beat it. I also think I'm dumb or missing something because I only got 2 vowels, but I see that others have more. (Maybe it's random and I just got super screwed by getting VWXYZ and only 2 vowels?) The final requires you to use a 2-letter word, and I'm pretty sure I don't have any options for that anymore, especially since it's attached to a long word. If I knew how critical 2-letter words were, I would've saved a few of them in my back pocket. But there's no way to know that you'll need them later.
The open world is very cool to explore, but it did make me unsure whether I was missing something or missing a letter. I scoured and rescoured the world several times to find another vowel and couldn't find anything. I'm not sure if there's some non-telegraphed puzzles hiding letters (dung beetle maybe?) but in that case, I would still feel like the game is trying too hard to keep vowels from me.
Idea to make the non-repeating limit softer: Have an energy meter that is built up by making unique words. Repeating a word costs some multiple of the energy that it rewarded. So if SEWER gives 5 energy then reusing it costs 25 energy, so you can tune the ratio of unique to repeated words that way.
At the start of that room you get the SNARE powerup which allows you to break fragile objects by surrounding them with words. To get past the sticks you'll need to place words to fully encircle them.
Wonderful game! Loved the concept of finding new letters and growing more powerful while dealing with the ever-dwindling amount of words you could use! This is one of these games you feel is too short because you're having so much fun :D
i went back to the start to see if there was some secret at the beginning i could access but for some reason the can closed behind me and no matter what i do it wont open again
this is a really good game, hopefully it gets a title screen and an actual save system ^^ also the part with buggus has an exit that did not work, this allowed me to not be able to get back for more levels, hopefully u fix this soon
Very fun game! Started off easily enough before I to look up words for help since I was repeating words again. Couldn't get to the bottom left button at the temple since the tin-can I was suppose to surround couldn't be finished since the word I left there couldn't be backspaced because I decided to comeback a while later. Last thing I wanted to do before finishing the game. The word started with a 'v' and I couldn't find 4-5 letter word that ended with a 'v'. I'm guessing that is where the letter 'R' was too which was a shame. Oh well. Still beat the game without it!
I think a save file would be good to add in the future! This took a long while for me to finish, but I didn't want to quit the game and start all over again. I'll see if I get to that tin-can section in the future!
This game was really fun! i did feel like Kenjaku Plunked my brain out of my head near the end (Cus I'm dumb) but overall I really enjoyed this. i gotta say tho I feel like one of the words Shouldnt count as an answer, you'll know what I'm talking about when/if you watch the video 😅
The game is very good and beautiful in the time I've been playing it, I have a lot of fun but I would like them to release a Spanish version right now I'm using a translator to play but part of it is very good <3
Hi! Finished the game in about 2 hours. It's a great game and I had an absolute blast!
Although, I ran into a slight problem in the credits. The tall grass patches make it hard to see what letters we're supposed to fill in. This was most evident with Karley, where it took me about 15 minutes to get -ey because of the tall grass. Otherwise, all other puzzles were very doable and very fun.
please explain what i must do in the first screen. I cant understand. I press tab, or try to write words to different tiles but nothing happens. I cant understand what i must do in the first screen.
I thought it would be fun at first but it was so much better than I imagined. I never figured out the dung beetles puzzle but other than that I had fun solving all of the simple little challenges. Great game; I already miss being a wizard worm.
I played the game but it keeps opening up on my other monitor to the side and it's mildly frustrating that there's no pause menu. Fun and interesting game!

Bahh... game was fun until i somehow managed to get myself trapped after going back into the tutorial? Re-opening the game doesn't seem to help.
I really loved this game - hugely recommend to all of my friend! I wrote a little blurb about it for an article: https://www.dailycal.org/arts/video-games/small-studios-big-scares-free-indie-ho...
Thanks so much for developing this cute bug spelling adventure! :D

Thank you, Chris! I'll send this to my editors for an update - I appreciate it! :)

Thanks for playing! There is saving though it's not messaged anywhere in the game :)
Very fun game! Wish it was a lot longer-- running out of words towards the end would have been fun :)
i cant open it on mac :(

You can also put a different word over a name, though. In this case I used 'kappas'
Hey folks, if you're stuck at beginning:
I'll try and add some control instructions at the beginning soon!
